Hungary

1. Budapest

Although Budapest is a well-known city, this destination is often forgotten when compared to other European attractions. With the beauty of this city that is often overlooked, it's only natural that Budapest is dubbed the most beautiful city in Europe and must be visited by every tourist.

One of the best views of the city of Budapest is the Houses of Parliament across the Danube River. In addition, the Danube Promenade is also a suitable location for an afternoon walk while enjoying the beauty of the city. You can observe various monuments such as Buda Palace, Bukit Gellert and Fisherman's Bastion. In the middle of the Danube River, you will also find Margaret Island - a 2.5 km recreation park that can be used as a place to relax "outside" the city.

2. Kutna Hora

Located only 45 minutes from Prague, Kutna Hora is a city that was once the richest city in Europe before its silver mining industry was destroyed in the late 16th century.

Built around a 12th-century monastery, Kutna Hora is home to many interesting historical heritage sites that make it into the UNESCO World Heritage Site category. One popular destination here is Sedlec Ossuary, a church with an interior decorated with bones of about 40,000 people! Yikes!

In addition, there is also the Cathedral of St. Barbara, who is one of the iconic buildings typical of the city of Kutna Hora. This gothic-style church is a witness of the history of the city which is also the most famous tourist spot of Central Europe. The city of Kromeriz in the Moravian Province has a long history and has been established since 1260 you know! The majority of the city's buildings have been established since the 17th century when the city was rebuilt after the Thirty Years' War.

The dark age is long gone and Kromeriz is considered one of the most charming historical cities in the Czech Republic! Park Kvetna Zahrada (aka Kromeriz Park) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where flowers will bloom during the summer and visitors can enjoy this beauty to their heart's content. Another important historical heritage is the Archbishop’s Chateau with its main attraction being a 84 meter high Baroque tower.

4. Brno

Only an hour from Kromeriz, Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic which is also often known as the European Hidden Center because of its rich heritage and the international community that resides here.

Although the city is less visited than Prague, Brno is a center of cultural activity complemented by beautiful natural scenery and interesting historic heritage sites. Lake Brno is the largest recreational park in the city which is also the center of various activities such as cultural events during the summer. Veveri and Spilberk are castles which show the rich history of Brno and are worth a visit!

Namesti Svobody is the main square of the city of Brno where you can taste delicious local dishes and the best wines. An interesting monument that you can find here is the "Astronomy Clock" of the black stone that will issue marbles at 11am and visitors can save it as souvenirs, you know!

Slovakia


5. Bratislava

Although Bratislava is classified as the most visited city in Slovakia, the number of visitors to the city is only about one million people a year. This is of course very inversely proportional to neighboring Austria where the city of Vienna alone receives around 15 million visitors.

With its natural beauty and modern city life, there are actually many things that can be found in Bratislava. Just like other European tourist attractions, the best location to start exploring the city is the cobbled streets in the Old City that feature medieval architecture, unique alleys and romantic cafes.

Bratislava Castle which is located on a hill is the most eye-catching building and can be seen from various corners of the city. On a clear day, you can even see the view to Austria from the tower, you know!

The Sculpture Park located behind the presidential palace is a unique recreational park suitable for relaxing. If you have time, you can also take a daily trip to Devin Castle which is located about 10 km from the center of Bratislava.

6. Torun


The city of Torun which is located on the banks of the Vistula River is often dubbed as one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. This is certainly supported by many reasons that you can find yourself in the city of Torun!

Founded by the Teutonic Knights, Torun is an interesting city where most of the gothic architecture is still original and untouched. Start your journey here by visiting the Old City where you will find the ruins of the Teutonic Knights Castle.

7. Gdansk


The coastal city of Gdansk is Poland's main port and is one of the important cities in European history. Many claim that Gdansk was the location of the first battle in World War II.

Even so, Gdansk is now better known for its various festivals such as the Sounds of the North Festival which is held every two years and the annual St. Dominic's Fair is a place for many traders to sell at the downtown market. In addition, various cultural events and performances can be enjoyed during this festival.

To see historical buildings, you can visit the Royal Way and Mariacka Street. The two most popular locations in the old city area offer stunning architecture and cultural diversity.
